Carly Pearce, Lee Brice celebrate milestones as top 10 duet earns gold certifications

MUMBAI: Carly Pearce and Lee Brice united once again for a quarantine surprise this morning as their labels revealed the RIAA and CRIA GOLD certification of “I Hope You’re Happy Now” in the US and Canada. The Top 10-and-rising duet has exceeded global consumption milestones, racking up over 130M+ streams to date, as fans embrace the track ABC News Radio boasts “reinvent[s] the classic country male/female duet.”

“This is so awesome! It has been really important for me to candidly show my story to fans, and these moments prove how much we can connect when we open up,” shared Carly. “Lee, your voice was the perfect match … you brought ‘I Hope You’re Happy Now’ to another stratosphere.”

Lee continued, “thank ya’ll so much! Carly, you really wrote a great song. I am so happy and blessed to be a part of this with you.”

“I Hope You’re Happy Now” has become one of only three Country singles released in the past seven months to achieve RIAA certification and second GOLD or higher in that time frame.

Rolling Stone Country mused, “The combination of their voices was electric, shot through with pain, and the title of the song took on a different meaning from each of their mouths — empathetic in Pearce’s case, bitter when Brice sang it. In a genre with a grand tradition of potent male-female duets, 'I Hope You’re Happy Now' was a true stunner.” While other critics too have echoed their adoration, one of Carly’s co-writers, Luke Combs, recently offered a celebratory sample on TikTok. Songwriters Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana also collaborated with the pair.

Fans can join the excitement at 5:00P CT today as Carly and Lee host an "I Hope You're Happy (Hour)" on Instagram Live. The powerhouse vocalists will chat about their duet, quarantine, and answer an array of questions from those participating at home.
