Alt-pop trio STIIR release their new 5-track 'Club Soda' EP

MUMBAI: Amidst the turmoil of the last few weeks North London trio, STIIR are still celebrating the release of their new 5-track ‘Club Soda’ EP. At their core, Ruben, Benny, and Prem are a group of friends who want to make music and have a blast while doing so. The EP is a blend of alt-pop, addictive melodies, fizzing indie and heart-rending lyricism.

STIIR perfectly demonstrate the age-old idea that you can’t choose your family but you can choose your friends, they have created an honest bond of brotherhood that pours out into their music. They have received stamps of approval from the likes of Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, DIY, Mahogany, Clash, Complex and continue to win over fans with their undeniable friendship and infectious auras. Drawing inspiration from all corners, the band have been influenced by the likes of Tame Impala, The Beach Boys as well as Stevie Wonder.

“We embrace pop music,” says Benny. “I think pop for a lot of people is synonymous with chart music, and I don’t know if that’s a fair representation. For us, it’s pop done in a more alternative format”.

Pushed forward by a mutual desire to create something special, STIIR are ready to shake pop down to its foundations. The band’s ‘Club Soda’ EP is a sparkling, inventive, exhilarating experience, a project that realises you have to know the rules in order to break them.
