Good song can carry itself irrespective of the movie plot: Sanah Moidutty

MUMBAI:  The election time had slowed down the film releases. However, two releases happened post the results-Modi Biopic and India’s Most Wanted. Neither of the movies were music oriented, however, each of them managed to have at least one good song. Matvaare from India’s Most Wanted is such a song that you take back home. What is striking is that it is a romantic song placed in a thriller. The song is composed by Amit Trivedi and sung by Sanah Moidutty and Jubin Nautiyal and has a breezy feel about it.

Sanah Moidutty explains why a breezy, romantic song will work in a serious movie. “It’s a beautiful song. A good song can carry itself irrespective of what the movie plot is. And I believe this song will work for the same reason.”

Continuing, Sanah shares her first reaction when she heard the scratch of the song, “I absolutely loved it the first time I heard the scratch song. It’s so catchy and cute. The composition and the lyrics are fun and they perfectly complement each other and that’s what I really love.”

A voice that is familiar in South India circuit and is making a firm mark in the Hindi industry after singing covers of classic songs and originals in movies like Mohenjo Daro and Meri Pyari Bindu, Sanah is more than happy to collaborate with the  Matvaare team. Amit Trivedi is a composer with whom every singer wants to collaborate and Sanah explains why is that so, “I’ve always wanted to work with Amit Trivedi as the compositions and the way he uses voices is really unique. I love his quirky style and Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics. It was an amazing experience as they made me really comfortable in the process. They are very easy going and friendly.”

She is also glad to sing a duet with Jubin as she says, “Jubin is an amazing singer. Also, I was present when he recorded his portion and vice-versa, which rarely happens these days while recording for duets.”

The singer shares the positive response received for this song till now, “My friends, family, and other musicians told me that I sound really different in this track. Also, the vocals sound joyous and fun.”

Sanah has her kitty full with exciting projects, “I have recorded songs for Kannada , Malayalam, Marathi movies. I also have some releases planned for my YouTube channel, renditions and originals.”
