'A Band of Boys' to benefit from Karan's case

MUMBAI: Singer Karan Oberoi has been making headlines for being accused of raping and blackmailing a woman. But, A Band of Boys sees the rape case as an opportunity to garner love of fans as they are consistently in news.

Speaking about the same, Sherrin Verghese comments, “We are looking forward to gain momentum on this case. I don’t want to sound opportunistic at this point of time, but we want to convert the negativity into positivity. We want to roll this into our favour and garner the same love, we received all these years.”

Verghese had earlier supported Karan by explain the difference between consensual rape and sex.

“Our business will continue to flourish on the contrary as we are in news. It is, in fact, be a great time to comeback,” he further adds.

The singer also revealed that owing to Karan’s ordeal their projects have come to a standstill as the band was gearing for new song launches. But, he thanks fans as well as their business partners for supporting them. “Our partners, event managers and business heads are in complete understanding of the scenario and have supported us right and centre. The amount of support and good wishes fans have been showering also shows that we are still a very favourable pop act. Their belief that ‘Karan Oberoi cannot do this’ is giving us hope in this testing time,” Sherrin concluded.

Meanwhile, Karan moved a bail application yesterday at a local Sessions Court in Mumbai.
