Childhood friends Armaan and Sukriti's romantic debut on T-Series MixTape S2

MUMBAI: Armaan Malik and Sukriti Kakar, who are childhood friends, have collaborated first time together for the seventh episode of T-Series MixTape Season 2 powered by Amazon Prime Music.

Keeping the romance intact for the mix, Armaan Malik and Sukriti Kakar have put forth a great performance by crooning two popular songs, Darkhaast from the Bollywood movie, Shivaay and Ajab Si from the movie Om Shanti Om.

Speaking about the episode, Armaan Malik shares, “This is my second track on T-series MixTape Season 2. I performed with Shreya Ghoshal in the first episode of this season and we came together for the first time ever. In this episode too, I am collaborating with my school friend and musical buddy Sukriti Kakar for the first time as we sing the songs Ajab Si, which I really like and Darkhaast, which is also great. I like the concept of MixTape as a lot of freedom is given to artists to play around with the song. Moreover, fans will love listening to their favourite song in their favourite singers’ voice.”

Sukriti Kakar excitedly comments, “I am looking forward to my episode with Armaan Malik and we collaborate for the first time. The tracks are love songs and have a cool vibe to it. MixTape is a very unique concept. It gives a lot of artists like us freedom to mashups and recreating music. You can never have 1 favourite song. There will always be two favourites’ whats better than having two songs together,” she further adds, commenting on the concept of MixTape.”

Music Director Abhijit Vaghani shares, “This is a sensuous song. The track has got a chill vibe to it. The song Darkhaast is a soft floaty track and so easily merges into Ajab Si. Moreover, the song has a sitar and guitar combination. We found a duo that played these instruments. The guitarist played the Indian phrasing on the guitar. It was quite unique as both of them were sinking onto the same phrase and played it really well. Armaan Malik and Sukriti Kakkar sound great in such love tracks.”

Talented musicians have complimented the duo by doing a western jugalbandi on a sitar and guitar giving the song that much needed feel. They are further accompanied by instrumentalists playing the drums, bass guitar, keys, piano and percussion. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, the show has been directed by Ahmed Khan Khan and conceptualized and developed by Shivam Chanana and Sonal Chawla.

Meanwhile, the episode, which is out on the official YouTube channel of T-Series, has garnered over 98k views within an hour of its release. It is also available in the audio format on Amazon Prime Music ad free.
