Classical pianist Ronojit presents a western classical blend at 'The Worli Festival 5.0'

MUMBAI: Among the various known and unknown faces that performed recently at The Worli Festival 5.0, a nineteen-year-old pianist, Ronojit swayed the audience with his western-classical mix tune – a combination rarely found. The event was organised by Shree Sankalp Pratishthan charitable trust helmed by Sangeeta Ahir and Sachin Ahir.

On his performance at the fest, Ronojit exclaimed, “It was very different to stand and play the western classical tunes in front of the audience. It was very different and nice to just free style and play when everyone is looking at you and your solo piano. It was a great experience, good fun and great people. I felt great to share my music at the festival.”

The young pianist performed with The Dual Core band at the event, which was indeed a last minute performance.

Revealing the same, one of The Dual Core band member Ameya Naik said, “He is not a member of The Dual Core band, but joined the band on the very afternoon of the performance in replacement of the female single, who usually performs with us. We thought of asking him to play with us as this combination of a classical pianist with Bollywood is completely unheard of. We rehearsed for the show for not more than 20 minutes.”

“It was amazing how quickly he has put up with the band,” Saurabh Shetty, another member of The Dual Core band added.

Ronojit also revealed about when he discovered his liking for classical pianist genre. He informed, “I started taking piano seriously when I was 14 and it’s been six years that I have been into it as I am 19 now. I generally to play this kind of music and I want to continue my career in this genre.”

On his future plans, the classical pianist concluded, “I am planning to continue here for three years more. Later, I would be going abroad in order to pursue my musical studies and go with the flow.”
