Bismil the lover all set to enchant B.Y.O.H - Winter Food Festival in Delhi

Mumbai: Many youngsters are coming up with their own brands, with their thoughts and vision. One such band is Bismil, formed by five musicians. Their vibe is Rock-Sufi, a genre that is fast finding liking across the country.

The band comprises of Asif Khan – Vocals, Sohaib Ahmed- Lead Guitarist, Vasu Singhal – Drums, Mohd Irfan - Keys/Backing Vocals, Salman khan – Percussions, Sumit Singh - Bass Guitars. The band has performed across the countries and for many reputed brands has also set the footprints in Thailand and soon hoping to perform in Moscow.

The name of the band was coincidental too, explains Asif, “Bismil means lover. We were listening to the song Gulaabi Aankhen and this word was a part of the lyrics. And thus, we thought of coining it as our band name.”

This weekend, the band will be performing at the Bring Your Hunger Winter Food Festival in Delhi and they are super excited. Asif, the lead vocalist shares, “Food and music have a deep connection. When you are listening to good music, you automatically want good food and vice versa. So, this is going to be interesting.”

The gig, which will be of 90 minutes duration, has kept the band busy. “We would be performing, on what is our forte - Sufi. We will start with soft music for first 20 minutes and the rest 70 minutes would be a medley of hit songs and some from Bollywood too.”

Asif is also happy with the kind of reaction audience has given for their band and the music it produces, “The reaction has been good so far. In fact, when we were in Thailand for our performance, the audience was so excited to see Indian instruments and they loved every bit of our performance.”
