Ganpati Special: Sunidhi Chauhan croons 'Ganraj Tu' penned by Prashant Ingole

MUMBAI: Singer Sunidhi Chauhan has crooned the devotional song, Ganraj Tu, penned by lyricist Prashant Ingole. The video is out on Times Music Spiritual YouTube channel on the occasion of Maharashtra’s popular Ganesh festival, which is just around the corner.

Watch the video here:

Speaking about the song, Prashant Ingole, who has penned its Hindi version said, “When Times Music and the composer of the song, Shreyas Puranik approached me to write a Ganpati song, I never thought twice and said ‘let’s do it’ I felt blessed to write them.”

Ganraj Tu is a very soft and mellow song sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, who has sung, both, its Hindi and Marathi versions. It is a soulful song about patience, peace that will transcends one to another world, connecting spiritually with Ganapti bappa,” he added.

Ingole also revealed that Sunidhi had praised the lyrics of the song and called them beautiful in her recent interview for a leading daily.

It is not for the first time that Prashant has penned a Ganpati song. On this, he said, “I always wanted to write songs for Ganpati. Eventually, during Bajirao Mastani, I got a call in the month of February, after Malhari was written; sir (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) wanted me to write a song. He asked me to write a song on Ganpati, while mentioning that it will be played on in the background. But, I was very happy that even if the song was not there in the film, it would be present at least as a 10 seconder in the background. I wrote the first verse of the song and gave it to him. After listening to the first verse, he came back to me and told that we want to make this a full song. So, I wrote another verse and this is how Gajanana happened, which entered in the Guinness book of world records, in 2015, for the biggest launch in the history of world music.”

After that last year, I wrote a song another Ganpati song, Aala Re Aala for the movie, Daddy, composed by Sajid-Wajid. It was sung by Wajid along with Ganesh Chandan Shive.

Prashant, who has a strong faith in Ganpati, revealed about his connect with the deity. “There are loads of things that happened to me, especially with Ganpati. I connect with him on a different level. During my struggle, I have felt his presence around me, some universal powers through which I connect with Ganpati . During my struggle, whenever I needed money, at the right time, I use to get some small work, which would bring small amount in my account,” he said.

Lastly, sharing his thoughts on Ganesh festival, Prashant Ingole signed off, “Ganesh festival was started by Tilakji in around 1800, to bring people, families together as Ganesh is known for bringing happiness. But, I personally feel that Ganpati should not be the sole reason for friends and families to meet and celebrate. In this era of technological advancement, people should meet more often and celebrate with their families, like they do during Ganesh festival.

Meanwhile, Ganraj Tu is indeed a beautiful spiritual retreat in the beautiful voice of Sunidhi, who also features in the video.
