Fever 104's 'Donate Notebooks' campaign live

MUMBAI: As we all gear up for Ganesh Chaturthi, the biggest festival of Maharashtra, the vibe of festivities is strong. However, let’s not forget the ones who are not as privileged as we are. Fever 104.8 is running a unique campaign that stands out with its concept. Usually, the campaigns for the underprivileged are either to with food or clothes, but Fever 104’s Fever Mission Shiksha campaign is to promote and encourage education.

“As Ganpati Bappa is known as the god of knowledge, we run this campaign as a true offering to him. Therefore, instead of serving prasad or modaks, we have encouraged people to donate notebooks for underprivileged children”, shared RJ Sidhu, the voice behind this campaign.

This campaign has been going on for past six years and the response has grown. “With each year, the response has been phenomenal. We tie-up with many NGOs too and distribute the notebooks donated by people to schools. We genuinely believe that basic education is extremely important and that every child should get notebooks,” continues Sidhu.

Radio is known as the strongest medium and the reach of this campaign is evident, “We have got calls from places, there is no television connection, but radio is used. We get calls from Gujarat, Raigad and all nearby places to Mumbai. It’s really heart-warming.”

What makes this campaign commendable is that the Fever’s team keeps a track and ensures that notebooks have been distributed among the identified schools. This year, Fever 104 has also created an aarti, encapsulating the essence of the campaign, which go live on the first day of Ganpati i.e. 13 September.  It is said to be set to the traditional Ganpati aarti sung in Maharashtra and sung by Vineet and Krutika and penned by the producer of the show Omkar.

The campaign is, however, already live and will be on till Anant Chaturthi. To donate and be a part of this campaign,  type: FMS Space, <name > and send to 8080104104.
