MUMBAI: YouTube star and Bollywood’s youngest female playback singer Dhvani Bhanushali has come out with her version of Whitney Houston’s all-time hit song, I Will Always Love You. After her carpool mashup of Gulabi Aankhein and Shape of You, Dhvani Bhanushali has launched her first solo music video, I Will Always Love You, a reprise of Whitney Houston’s global hit.
Dhvani who considers legendary singer Whitney Houston as one of her inspirations says, “I have sung several Hindi songs. Whitney Houston is one of my idols and it was her songs that inspired me to be a singer. One day, I had performed I Will Always Love You at my college, which got a very nice response. Hence, I chose the song when I decided to make a music video.”

Reprised by Gaurav Chatterji and directed by Anjali Bhushan, the song, which dropped online today, has been shot in Mumbai. A source close to the video production team revealed that it took three hours to actually light up a thousand diyas, featured in the video.
The music video is a prayer by a young girl for her family as she steps out of her comfort zone into the world as an independent young woman. Speaking on the video Dhvani says, “Anjali came up with a beautiful concept that in life, we must release all past baggage to move on the path of self-growth. The story is different from that shown in the original song. ”
Dhvani’s rendition has her style but what is clearly unmissable is the sheer talent of this 20-year-old who sang her first Bollywood song, Ishtehaar with none other than Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab for the film Welcome to New York, a song that became an instant hit. “That song happened quite early in my career and was indeed magical. Rahat Fateh Ali is one of Bollywood singers I look up to besides Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan.”
Apart from this, Dhvani has also shot a mashup of the song, Havana and Aao Huzoor that is anticipated to release after I Will Always Love You.
While currently pursuing her graduation, Dhvani uses her spare time to practice singing. She has been singing all genres from rock to soft pop to classic to Hindi film music.
