Mika Singh's 'Old Is Gold' recreates Talat Aziz's 'Phir Chhidi Raat'

MUMBAI: Recreation of an old classic is a thing these days, but an attempt at it is not always appealing to the ears. Most recreations even go on to kill the essence of the existing song, but not Old Is Gold. The digital show that aired its sixth episode recently is trying to hold on to the melody of the past.

Their recent episode is a recreation of Lata Mangeshkar and Talat Aziz song Phir Chhidi Raat from 1982 film Bazaar. The recreated version has been sung by Raman Kapoor and recreated by Ravi Pawar and Mika Singh. The song does not take you anywhere away from the feel of the good old days.

Old Is Gold is a project conceptualised by Mika Singh, produced by his company Music & Sound in association with Saregama. It will have a set of 27 unplugged recreations of classic songs that will be a mix of romantic and melancholic tracks.
