MUMBAI: The Baby Marvake Manegi singer, who started his musical journey in 2009, today is in news not for a new musical collaboration, but for his appearance on television. Dilin Nair, best known as Raftaar will soon be making an appearance on MTV’s Roadies Xtreme, one of the oldest reality shows on Indian television.

This is not Raftaar’s maiden association with MTV. “I feel like an artiste is about to be a coach on roadies and me being an artiste I will understand that part of life,” said Raftaar.

The singer has not been a Roadies follower, but he understands the pattern of the show. “I have seen a bunch of episodes. During college it was on TV, now if there is something interesting happening, Facebook helps by popping up on the wall,” said the Dangal singer.

Recently, Raftaar was in Chandigarh for Roadies Xtreme auditions, which was a clear reality check for the singer. He said, “The response in Chandigarh was amazing. Also, I am much known amongst music fans but seeing the response in a place like Roadies is refreshing.”

The singer, music director, songwriter and a rapper will be a gang-leader you would love to have. “I will be much focused and will invest all that I have learned in life. I have learned a lot from the right mentor, right guide. So, with the right motive, I will give it out to them,” he added.

On the show, the singer will be accompanied by co-stars Neha Dhupia, Nikhil Chinapa and Prince Narula. With a twist this year, the gang-leader who will be leading a gang will also be seen participating in tasks along with the team.

Before ending, the most important thing for a Roadie to know is the kind of winner the gang-leader is expecting. To this, he said, “The person has to be mentally fit. This does not mean one would be a liar but has to be politically fit and should understand the need for the show. One needs to have the strength and be calm and composed when required. So a total of mental and physical preparation is required. But there is also an ‘X’ factor as how much risk is one willing to take, how badly you want it – so it is a combination of all.”

The singer recently sang for Fukrey Returns and has a few tracks in Yamla Pagla Deewana 3. The singer has a few more Bollywood songs and independent projects up for release. He has also signed a new artiste under his record label ‘DNH Raftaar’ that launched in May 2016 with DNH Media.
