I recorded 'Bahon Mein Chale Aao' in one go: Jyotica Tangri

MUMBAI: The third episode of Old is Gold, a new music property by Saregama and Music & Sound is out now. The latest release is Bahon Mein Chale Aao, a Lata Mangeshkar song on the music of RD Burman from the movie Anamika.

The new version is sung by Jyotica Tangri, who was also a part of The Voice show on &TV, music is re-created by Ravi Pawar and Mika Singh. Since then, Mika Singh and Jyotica have been performing live shows. It was the Hawa Hawa singer who gave Jyotica an opportunity to be a part of Old is Gold.

“Mika Paji is a great inspiration and an amazing person at heart. He approached me with the idea of Old is Gold and he asked me for my choice of song to re-create for this property. The only song that stuck in my mind was Bahon Mein Chale Aao. I have sung this song on stage many times, but getting an opportunity like this is a dream come true. Also, I wanted to pay a tribute to our melody queen Lataji and that is why I went ahead with this song,” said Jyotica.

While recording a famous melody, singers generally have the original song running back in their mind. But for Jyotica that wasn’t a major issue. “I have performed this song at my live shows a lot of times which has been in my style. When I went for the recording, I recorded the song in one go because all Mika Paji told me is ‘be free and sing the way you like’. Giving such liberty is very inspiring and motivating. Also, the song is not rendered as I tried to be natural and keep the essence of Lataji,” she added.

The singer has lent her voice for songs like Pallo Latke, Tenu Na Bol Pawaan, Jiya O Jiya, Ishq De Fanniyar and more. Her latest single Aaja Mahi featuring Daisy Shah was released under T-Series. The singer is all set to release her next single under Times Music in early 2018.
