Bappi Lahiri to sing for Junior World Cup Football

MUMBAI: Disco king Bappi Lahiri has composed and will be singing a song for the upcoming 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup or Junior World Cup Football which will be held in Kolkata between 6 and 28 October. The song Jai Ho Jai Ho Baba has been written by Bijay Bhakat.

Lahiri is an ardent sports lover, a follower of football and cricket. He has dedicated this song to the football icons from all over the world, especially footballer Pele. Bappi spoke about his love for this sport with international football star Diego Maradona during a short rendezvous. The song pays tribute to the footballers who have been instrumental in glorifying India’s name on the International football scenes, players such as P K Banerjee, Chuni Goswami among others. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and the ex- captain of the Indian cricket team M.S Dhoni congratulated Bappi Lahiri on his song.

Bappi Lahiri said "I come from Kolkata, where they eat, sleep and breathe football. And it was my dream to dedicate a song to all the footballers around the world. I have made this song especially to welcome the upcoming Junior World Cup Football which will be held in Kolkata. Being an avid lover of sports, I am very excited and looking forward to the Junior World Cup Football."
