Bappi Lahiri accepts seventh Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award

MUMBAI: Bappi Lahiri who has been in the entertainment industry for 48 years was awarded seventh Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Award for his contribution in Bollywood and Hollywood music Fraternity.

Ooh La La hitmaker is the first music director to have composed songs for Bharat Ratna Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Ambedkar and he went on to gift these very CDs to Honorable President of India, Ram Nath Kovind in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh during the award ceremony.

“I am honoured to be the first music director ever to make a song for luminaries like Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Ambedkar. It’s an absolute honour to present these songs to the President of our country Ram Nath Kovind. He was happy to learn that I made a song on Shri. Atal Bihar Vajpayee and Dr. Ambedkar who brought pride to India. I would like to thank Amruta Fadnavis ji who lent her voice to my music,” said the overwhelmed music composer.
