I keep myself away from the industry politics: Raftaar

MUMBAI: Being a part of the music business is definitely not a cake walk. There are sleepless nights and overpacked day schedules. Rapper Raftaar has been doing it all, but in between all the juggling, he has also been giving a push to new talent. Most artists would refrain from going the extra mile to lend a helping hand due to their ticking clocks, but the rapper follows a rule that helps him expand his schedule.

“There is nothing to manage because these are the only things that I do. I keep myself away from the industry politics. So, I always end up having a lot more time,” stated the Go Pagal singer.

He further added, “Most of the people in the industry try pulling others down. I am completely out of it. I save a lot of time there and spend it in making new songs.”

Music for the Dhaakad hitmaker is about dedication and his house is open for music enthusiasts.  In fact, he recently extended his support to a young rapper by featuring in his debut song, You Can’t Stop This Party.

Raftaar is signed under Zee Music Company, but the label hasn’t chained him like many others. He is free to explore musically and the rapper is making the best of it. “It is an album deal where every year I have to launch one album. There are possibilities of me doing singles outside the label too because Zee only wants me to grow nothing else. If any other label gives me a good song, they have no issues with it. This is amazing and that is why it took me long to sign with the right label,” said Raftaar.

On the Bollywood front, Raftaar’s last release was Bandookh Meri Laila from A Gentlemen and his upcoming releases are a part of Lucknow Central and Fukrey 2.

There is a lot happening in the independent space with the rapper looking forward to the release of his next single with Sonu Kakkar and a new artist name Mufaad, Dab. Raftaar who has also been a Jhalak Dikhlaja 8 contestant has also shot for a music video with his then dance partner, Scarlet.

Way to go Raftaar!
