Young talent Armaan Mallik turns 22

MUMBAI: When we talk about the young generation of the music, it is really hard to find singing, composing, song writing and various other things in a single person. The one, who has all these talents stored inside him, is none other than the versatile and charming singer Armaan Mallik. This talented voice turns 22 today.

Armaan Mallik basically comes from a family of musicians, be his father, uncle, grandfather, granduncle, and now even his brother all of them are from the musical background. Armaan was born on 22 July 1995 in Mumbai. His father Daboo Mallik is a music director and while his mother is a homemaker. Armaan has two more siblings, a brother and a sister, his brother, Amaal Mallik, is a successful music composer and a singer. His uncle Anu Malik is a very famous music director of Bollywood. His grandfather was also a noted music director, while his great uncle was a well known Bollywood lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri.

Armaan has done his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. He did his further studies in Berklee College of Music at Boston. He has done Honours in Music.

Since childhood only, Armaan was interested in singing, he has learned classical music for ten years from Rita Kaul and Qadir Ghulam Mustafa Khan (son of Padmasree Ghulam Mustafa Khan). He participated in Zee TV’s popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, he did not manage to win the trophy and got eliminated in the eight place. After that, he went on to sing for various commercials and films. He has sung for around 100- 200 commercials. He has sung songs for movies like Bhootnath, Jai Ho, Chillar Party, Rakta Charitra and many more. As a singer, he has not only been just singing Hindi songs but also has sung songs for Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and many other languages.

He has also been successful with non-filmy songs. His singles like Pyaar Manga Hai, Aaja Na Ferrari Mein and Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon have been very popular with the listeners.

Armaan has also been dubbing for movies. He had given his voice for the movie radio version of the iconic movie Slumdog Millionare for BBC Radio 1 for Salim’s character. He has also dubbed for the English boy’s character in the movie My Name Is Khan.

He has been awarded various awards like RD Burman new music talent award, Dada Saheb Phalke awards as the Most Popular Singer Of The Year and various other awards.

It is very hard to achieve so many things at such a young age. But this young talent has managed to make a successful place for him in the music industry.
