B-Boy battle to come alive at antiSOCIAL

MUMBAI: Gear up for the biggest B-Boy battle in the city headed your way, curated by Team INC. Supported by Red Bull BC, the B-Boy battle along with over 70 participants from across the country will take place at antiSOCIAL, Mumbai on 4 April 2017, 10 am onwards.

Fighting it out in two categories - one on one and teams of three, the finals will feature the best four teams in each category giving it their best for the win. Legendary B-Boy Menno will judge the challenge. Also, the episode will feature jams by some of Mumbai's best hip hop crews such as Sphere Fx (Beatbox), D-HOOD (Beatbox), Nasty Ninja (RAP), Mumbai's finest (RAP), Dopeadelicz (RAP) and Swadesi (RAP).

Talking about it, Team INC proprietor Raja Mukherjee, who is also a devotee of hip-hop for almost 12 years now said, “Hip-hop is here to stay, I have been a a part of the Hip-Hop culture since 2005 and trying to push the scene since 2014. I didn’t really have much to offer that time and there was hardly anyone who took the initiative to build something within the community to make it strong. B-Boy community is huge, growing and everything comes under Hip-Hop. Also, Social has the feel of it.  I am looking forward to doing this every six months.”

“‘Hip-Hop Alive was started by Nasty Ninja and his crew Beast Mode around three years ago. After the first edition, when I got to know Ninja well as an artist and a visionary, we wanted to do something together. A few days back while touring in Delhi we decided to come up with the former name along with some development. Within two weeks we came up with the idea and approached Vivek Dudani (Regional Programming Head, Social). I am pretty sure that this initiative will unlock huge exposure to the upcoming B-Boys, in terms of business, community and music and that’s what happening, ” added Mukherjee.

The registration for the B-Boy battle starts at 10 am. After that, there will be one on one and teams of three challenges. The registration fee for one on one battle is Rs. 300 and for the team of three its Rs. 750 while. The winner will get to know the industry experts, exposure in the community and lots of goodies.

The event will end followed by a kickass performance by DJ Cas and DJ URI (Uri Solanki) where they will be seen spinning the freshest and funkiest B-Boy breaks.
