Boiler Room continues its Indian journey; second show in Bengaluru

MUMBAI: Boiler Room in association with Budweiser ‘Discover What’s Brewing’ event series continues its India journey with their second show in Bengaluru on 7 April.

The gig will feature Zora Jones, Sinjin Hawke, American footwork producer Jlin with Avril Stormy Unger, and Indian artists Kumail and Aerate Sound.

On 7 April 2017, the series will make its way to tech capital Bengaluru (It might take place at The Humming Tree), where Barcelona-based producers and founders of audio-visual collective Fractal Fantasy Zora Jones and Sinjin Hawke will direct the evening.

Joining them on the night will be American footwork producer Jlin – who spends a lot of time in the Garden City and will be collaborating with city-based performance artist Avril Stormy Unger for a special set, and Mumbai-based producer Kumail, whose latest EP ‘From You to Blue’ showcases his leanings towards atmospheric and ethereal sounds beyond the dance floor. Completing the line-up are new kids on the block, Aerate Sound, who have made small but noticeable ripples in the Indian music scene with their sample-driven, beat culture influenced debut album, ‘Only For External’.

Since, its debut in July 2016, the series has taken in shows in Mumbai, Santiago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and most recently, Miami, where Danny Tenaglia, Josh Wink, Oscar G and Lazaro Casanova provided the soundtrack for a night dedicated to exploring the foundations of US house and techno. Hip-hop icon Jazzy Jeff took to the decks in Philadelphia, while in Mumbai for example, Werk Discs co-founder and Ninja Tune Cohort, Actress, was the focus of a bill that also showcased the talents of local Mumbai-based artists Oceantied and Sandunes as well as _RHL from Bengaluru.
