Humans of Music completes one year; enters into apparels

MUMBAI: A Humans of New York inspired movement, Humans of Music is a story to tell. Started in February 2016, Humans of Music is a curated photo space on names in music and musicians.

On its first year anniversary, the group enters in apparels. They plan to launch some t-shirts with some quirky designs very soon.

Talking about getting into apparels Nicky stated, “So, when we decided to make t-shirts, I was not sure if people will buy t-shirts without a brand name. Therefore, we decided to collaborate with graphic artists. I asked Hanisha Tirumalasetty, Azra J and Danny Darkoski and told them to give us their version of Humans of Music. No other brief was given and they all agreed.”

HOM told us, this is their second Humans of Music t-shirt design, which is designed by Azra J from Alpha Cube. The design portrays ‘The Illuminated Trooper’ and that is a take on the enlightened human where we think of Jesus, probably.

“So yes, he is the Jesus of Music aka Human of Music. His face is that of a bat because bats are sensory masters. The large ears of small bats help them echolocate or use sound waves that bounce off objects like a natural sonar. They rely on music and not on vision,” said Ramnani.

Also, they are doing a bunch of gigs across different cities to celebrate one year of HOM.

While talking about the whole agenda behind Humans of Music Nicky stated, “It's inspired by Humans of New York. I saw how powerful a blog can get and decided to do the same with music. The last one year has been amazing! We have covered 100 artists and Today was our 100th artist (He actually counted before telling me the numbers). We did five festival/property collaborations and now ending it with a series of gigs.”

Nicky Ramnani, the sole frontman of Orbs & Zen, is also a DJ and music producer. He will be seen playing at the Humans of Music anniversary gig at The Tao Terraces, Bengaluru on 7 April 2017.
