Sarod Maestro Pandit Biswajit Roy Chowdhury to enthrall the audience in 86th Pratahswar

MUMBAI: The 86th concert of Pratahswar will feature Sarod Maestro Pandit Biswajit Roy Chowdhury whose grace skill and virtuosity will enthral the audience, the only instrumentalist who has learnt the secrets of raga-vidya and khayal singing.  He will be accompanied by Amit Choubey on Tabla. The morning concert will be held at will be held at Kala Prangan (open foyer), Pu. La. Deshpande Kala Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai on 26 March 2017 at 6.30 a.m. Entry is free for the concert.

'Pratahswar' is a monthly morning concert series of Indian Classical Music, features mainly young talented artistes and also, at times, senior established artists.  It is presented on one Sunday morning of every month from October of every year to May of the next year. The duration of the concert is two hours and begins at 6:30 am.

It may be noted that “Pratahswar” has never repeated any artiste in all its 85 concerts till date. Pratahswar has featured artistes ranging from the upcoming brigade such as Samrat Pandit, Sahana Banerjee and Ramakant Gaikwad to veteran musicians such as Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ulhas Kashakar and N. Rajam to name a few.

It is supported by Tata Capital, 'Pratahswar' is considered to be a 'Brand Event' in the world of Indian Classical Music having built a loyal audience of about 700 discerning listeners in the early hours of the day.
