I had been struggling to release 'Haaye Dil': Jubin Nautiyal

MUMBAI: After beginning the year with some of the biggest Bollywood hits, Jubin Nautiyal is now rocking the music video space with his debut single 'Haaye Dil'. The song has already crossed a million views on YouTube.

Interestingly, 'The Humma Song' hitmaker had been trying to release 'Haaye Dil' for two years now. “I had been struggling to release it since, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. God knows what’s with the industry. They do not believe in a new sound. Everyone is rushing through music. Even the quality of music is compromised. The time limit of a song these days is three minutes,” says the singer whose latest single has a good six and a half minute run.

‘Haaye Dil’ finally took off with T-Series giving it a green signal. “I struggled with all the music companies. But, I finally found a company (T-Series) that showed faith in me.”

The ‘Kaabil Hoon’ singer is extremely happy and proud to see his song reaching the masses. He says that ‘Haaye Dil’ is a ‘passion project’ to him. “I grew up in a time when albums were a big thing. We had Mohit Chauhan, KK, Lucky Ali and other artist bringing out their music. Now, the albums have shrunk to one song. I personally like to sing songs that make sense to me and have some soul in them,” states the singer who has managed to touch a million hearts with his single.

‘Haaye Dil’ is a sad song that Nautiyal shot in front of 60,000 people. He gives credit of this single to the ones without whom it wouldn’t have been possible. “Rocky and Shiv got together and made this song for me. Sayed Quadri wrote lyrics of this track for me,” says ‘Labon Se’ singer.

‘Haaye Dil’ comes straight from Nautiyal’s heart as he goes on to narrate a story – “I broke someone’s heart when I was younger and I regret that time of my life. But, that phase in my life has been a huge eye-opener for me. ‘Haaye Dil’ is dedicated to that moment.”
