DJ Axwell to explore potential collaborations in India

MUMBAI: The Indian music scenario is booming at the moment with music festivals being at their peak. The musicians across the globe are looking forward to performing in India, thus DJ Axwell’s plans to explore possible collaborations in India does not come as a surprise to one.

Entertainment consulting company Bottomline Media has tied up with UK’s Virgin EMI Records for artist collaborations and brand partnerships and will now be bringing Swedish maestro, Axel Hedfors, more popularly known Axwell to India on 11 January 2017.

The company was recently in the news for bringing popular British Band, ‘The Vamps’ to India. The partnership had the band collaborate with Bollywood superstars, Vishal-Shekhar and Farah Khan, on a song and music video, as well as made news performing at the mega Global Citizen’s Concert. The band also appeared on comedian Kapil Sharma’s show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

This time the entertainment consulting company brings Axwell to India. The DJ will be meeting industry bigwigs during his stay here, to explore potential collaborations with the Indian Entertainment Industry.

Axwell is well known for his teaming up with Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello in late 2008 to kickstart a revolution in the EDM world with the founding of their DJ collective; the Swedish House Mafia (SHM). Churning out massive hits over the years such as ‘Don't You Worry Child’, ‘Save the World’, ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ and ‘Leave the World Behind’; SHM soon garnered a major global fan following being the largest ticket selling electronic band of all time. Axwell has continued to produce chartbuster tracks and along with Ingrosso. Recently they returned to India to headlined Sunburn festival in India.

Axwell will be in India for the Maruti Ignis launch and the brand has used the track, ‘Something New’ which will be used by the brand in their Indian campaign.

Ahead of his scheduled India visit, Axwell says, “I have performed in India and the crowds, the energy and the emotions here are all brilliant. Bottomline Media is doing exciting work in the entertainment world and I am looking forward to working with them and exploring artistic collaborations in the country.”
