Listen: This Duo's Breathtaking Mashup of Lata Mangeshkar and Christina Perri Songs

MUMBAI: Mumbai-based duo of Anshuman Singh and Yash Sarwan has been, lately, grabbing deserved attention across social media and online portals for their renditions, usually featuring a Hindi and an English composition. Performing under the name ‘Prana’, the two artists – earlier this month – released a music video featuring two songs from completely different eras.

In the band’s latest effort, the popular song from the 1964 released Indian movie ‘Woh Kaun Thi’, titled ‘Lag Jaa Gale’ sung by the legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar could be heard positioned together with the song from 2011 released American romantic fantasy movie ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’, titled ‘A Thousand Years’, sung by Christina Perri.

Sarod player Yash Sarwan and vocalist/guitarist Anshuman Singh have released the music video for the mash-up, titled ‘Embrace of Time’. The video features picturesque locations of a campsite in Panchgani and the duo’s performance at this year’s Karvi Festival in a cave.

‘Embrace of Time’ is not the first time when the two musicians have come together to recreate an idea revolving around two songs from two different genres and languages. Earlier, the band did a mash-up of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ and Bollywood movie Queen’s song ‘Kinare’. The video quickly went viral and gained recognition for Sarwan and Singh, and Prana’s popularity has been growing ever since.
