HR Musik loses 'disciplined' CEO

MUMBAI: Now does not seem to be the best of times for singer-music composer Himesh Reshammiya. After news surfaced that Reshammiya had filed for divorce with his wife of 22 years, the musician has had to counter another piece of bad news - the CEO of HR Musik, Andy Singh, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence last weekend.

As per media reports, Singh had been living with his mother and girlfriend after separating from his wife, with who he has a nine-year-old daughter. The reports say Singh’s mother was not too pleased with the situation and this often lead to verbal tiffs in the family.

Something similar happened on Saturday night, say the police, leading to Singh hanging himself from a ceiling fan. Singh locked himself into his room while both his mother and girlfriend kept persuading him to open up. When Singh did not respond, they called the cops. It was too late by then.

According to sources close to Reshammiya, they were informed about the mishap around 4-5 am on Sunday. Both Himesh and his father Vipin Reshammiya rushed to Singh’s residence.

“Andy was short-tempered, but he was very disciplined. How we wish he had let that moment pass. It would have been a different picture today. It’s a huge loss for HR Musik and we will never be able to replace him. But, it's destiny and we will have to accept it,” said a source from HR Musik.

Reshammiya is currently in Ahmadabad, but he will be back by the end of the day according to our sources. The company is still in a state of shock. “We are still mourning his loss,” added the source.

HR Music’s official twitter page tweeted about the unfortunate incident yesterday –
