Shankar Mahadevan, AR Rahman and A. Shivamani ruled HRC's 10th Anniversary auction

MUMBAI: The exotic and popular Indian cafe Hard Rock Cafe ,Worli celebrated its 10 anniversary in a noble fashion on 30 November 2016.

As Hard Rock Cafe is all about music, on this special occasion, an auction was organised for music lovers in India. Musicians donated their valuables to Hard Rock Cafe which were put up for auction for a noble cause in association with Mewsic – a Brett Lee foundation. The charity amount was to be used for underprivileged children.

Renowned musicians like Shankar Mahadevan, Usha Uthup, A Sivamani, Euphoria, AR Rahman, Parikrama, Raghu Dixit and Purbayan Chatterjee stepped up for the cause.

Commenting on his participation for the auction, acclaimed percussionist A Sivamani said, “I have used this Timbalee for 'Taal' and many more movies. It is a special drum and delighted to know it is going for a good cause. People love the drums music and seeing them enjoying I feel content. These drums were used while working with Zakir Hussain, AR Rehman and other legendary musicians. It is unique and precious to me as I have also used them in my biggest concerts.”

Pop sensation Usha Uthup said, “ I am so so happy to donate a little something of myself, to the l0th anniversary auction. Its a great feeling of pride for me to give away one of my favorite Kanjeevaram sari and one of my first vocal microphones and that too, for Hard Rock Cafe’s 10th anniversary auction. It indeed feels wonderful to spread happiness love through music. Here’s wishing a happy 10 to Hard Rock Cafe, lndia.”

The valuables of musicians at the auction for donation were bid and bought. The assets were Rock and Roll Delhi band Parikrama’s autographed fended guitar that was bid from INR 5,000 and bought for INR 28,000. Pop sensational Usha Uthup’s Kanjivaram saree and microphone were bid from INR 5,000 and bought for INR 15,000. Indian rock band Euphoria's band master’s red hat was bid from INR 2,000 and bought for INR 15,000. Sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee’s Kurta Pajama set which he wore for Zakir Hussain’s concert and his tuner was together bid from INR 2,000 and bought for INR 20,000. Music stunner Raghu Dixit’s guitar was bid from INR 10,000 , bought for INR 30,000.

Two special assets in auction were not of musicians but celebrities. They were Priyanka Chopra’s OM Bracelet worn in ‘ Quantico’. The bidding price was INR 10,000 and bought for INR 32,000 and Brett Lee’s autographed shoes were bid from INR 2,000 and bought for INR 14,000.

Three special assets of special Bollywood music icons were bid for higher prices. More participants bid for these valuables. They were A. Shivamani’s timbalee drums that were priced at INR 10,000 and bought for INR 80,000. Shankar Mahadevan’s harmonium priced at INR 15,000 and bought for INR 1,00,000. A.R Rahman’s headphones were priced at INR 15,000 and bought for INR 80,000.
