Nucleya misses out on Top 100; DJ Chetas top ranked Indian DJ

MUMBAI: DJ Mag updated its 2016 list of Top 100 DJs across the globe through traditional forms of voting, and while the EDM fans rejoiced on Martin Garrix owning the throne thus becoming the youngest DJ to do so, Indian fans have a bittersweet feeling of the outcome.

Literally, the most followed and popular fan on live music front - Delhi based producer Nucleya – has failed to even make it to the Top 100. However, continuing his impressive run, DJ Chetas not only retained his presence in the Best 100 DJs, but improved the ranking by 26 positions, sitting comfortably at 33rd. Indian fans can take pride in the fact that the electronic duo Lost Stories have debuted with an impressive ranking at 52nd.

Nucleya has an immense following on his social media platforms, live gigs and streaming outlets, however the same did not reflect in the voting for the DJ Mag – often considered as one of the most controversial polls among the circuit.

The top three comprises Martin Garrix who finished third last year, replacing last year’s kings Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, who replaced Hardwell at the second position. Hardwell, meanwhile, finished third this year. Marshmello, who lately performed his debut set in India, debuted at 28th. And soon to make his first appearance on Indian soil through Enchanted Valley Carnival, Alan Walker debuted at 55th.
