Post 'The Stage', Dean Sequeira to focus on Bollywood, indie music

MUMBAI: Dean Sequeira, the second contestant to get eliminated from Colors Infinity's 'The Stage' this Sunday (16 October 2016), stumbled upon music while, trying to make a career in the oil industry.

The singer who holds a B.Sc. in Geology and an M.Sc. in Petroleum Technology would have been working for an oil company had it not been for the crunch.

Sequeira, who is slowly making his place in the Bollywood music industry, also went on to graduate in music although unknowingly. It all started with him picking the guitar at the age of 10 and then creating bands of his own in school and college. Soon he was performing at gigs. However, he put it all on the back burner to focus on his M.Sc. But, fate had a different plan for him.

"I was sitting at home contemplating on what to do next when 'MTV Unplugged' with Pritam, happened to me. I have been touring with him. Next, I got the opportunity to give backing vocals for Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's 'Ghayal 2' and 'Mirzya'. And then 'The Stage' came my way," states the singer who did not expect an early exit from the Colors Infinity show.

"I did not expect a double elimination. That too at a time when we had all become such good friends," sighs Sequeira, who now has plans of collaborating with a few of his co-contestants,

The singer is looking at creating cover versions of some well-known songs, post which he will be focusing on his EP. "I have started writing songs for my EP. Let's see how it goes."

Sequeira is also looking at getting into music production and sound designing for films. "I have a lot planned out for me," shares the singer.
