Noida's Global Literary Festival opens with Sufi singer Shakeel Ahmed

NEW DELHI: Renowned Ghazal and Sufi singer Shakeel Ahmed gave an electrifying music recital at Marwah Studios at Noida Film City as the curtain raiser event of 2nd Global Literary Festival Noida 2016.

“The 2nd Global Literary Festival Noida 2016 has been scheduled for 22 to 24 September, just round the corner. A team of Ghazal and Sufi lovers are here to celebrate the coming literary festival,” said GLFN President and renowned filmmaker Sandeep Marwah.

More than 200 people enjoyed the fascinating musical recital by Shakeel Ahmed, which was followed by releasing of the poster of the GLFN. “Ghazals and Sufi Kalams are part of our literature. Poetry plays a very important part of any literature,” said Dr. Mridula Tandon, President of Sakshi which is an NGO for unprivileged children.

“It is commendable that a Global Literary Festival of international stature is going to happen in Noida representing India,” said former Rajya Sabha Secretary General Yogendra Narain, appreciating the cultural environment created by International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI).

Renowned poet and lyrics writer Farhad Shahzad added: “Sandeep Marwah is a ’One Man Army.’ I am sure like other festivals Global Literary Festival will also emerge as great source of literature promotion”.

A large number of poets, writers and people from the literary world attended the show. Festival Director Sushil Bharti also spoke on the occasion.
