Siddharth Mahadevan explores new space with 'Nachde Ne Saare'

MUMBAI: Singer-composer Siddharth Mahadevan has been around for almost a decade now. He ups the ante with his first Bollywood shaadi song in 'Nachde Na Saare' from 'Baar Baar Dekho'.

Siddharth who has sung some beautiful compositions over the years, had never thought about singing a shaadi song until 'Baar Baar Dekho'. In fact, he was not even sure about his voice being finalised for the recently released track. "I have never sung a shaadi song before this. The music composer, Jasleen (Royal) called me to try my voice for the track and I gave it my best shot. A couple of weeks later she informed me that my voice had been finalised,"stated the singer.

Like most of Siddharth's tracks, this one too happens to be a high pitched number. However, in person, the singer is a very soft-spoken person. Hence, when asked how he manages to sing the high octaves, the talented man averred, "When you're on the stage or in front of the mic there is this different energy that takes over and that translates in the song. Plus I am gifted with a high range and the music composers make the best of it."

The 'Zinda' singer is currently also exploring composing opportunities in Bollywood, while he continues to compose for Marathi films. "I compose with my cousin Soumil (Shringarpure) and we have had some very good Bollywood meetings this year. So, hopefully, we will be doing some good work by end of this year or early next year," revealed the upcoming music composer.

The singer-composer further added that his music will be influenced by world music as he has grown up listening to songs of different genres.

Other than these the 'Malang' singer is also working on a single with his singer-composer, father Shankar Mahadevan. "I am working on a single with dad. It is one of my compositions and I am waiting to bring it out in a big way."

Siddharth's next release will be in 'Mirziyaan'. This will also be a first of a kind song for the singer as he explained, "This one too will be very different from what I have sung so far. It's a high energy, soulful track."

Though Siddharth has ample work in his kitty one thing that he dislikes is waiting to know if his song will be a part of a project or not. However, over the years he has learnt to deal with it. "You just have to accept the industry for the way it is. There is always this curiosity to know what is happening, but one needs to focus energy on working. There are times when you do get impatient, but then there are also pleasant surprises," explained the singer.

Keep up the good work Siddharth!
