MUMBAI: Arjun Kanungo, who is best known for his unique singing style and his last single 'Fursat', recently recorded a song for Tamil superstar Sivakarthikeyan's big budget movie 'Remo'. The music of this untitled song has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Chennai based composer best known for 'Kolaveri Di'.

This is Arjun’s Tamil singing debut and the song is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Arjun’s versatility extends from blending rock and Indian classical melodies such as guitar and piano. Anirudh made his debut as music composer in his cousin Aishwarya R Dhanush's directorial debut movie ‘3’ starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. The song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ from the movie ‘3’ instantly became a sensation for its quirky ‘Tanglish’ (portmanteau word of Tamil and English) lyrics.

We had a quick interaction with the ‘Baaki Baatein Peene Baad’ singer. While talking about it elated Arjun said, “I met Anirudh at a conference at Sony’s office couple of months ago. I cancelled my holiday to fly down to Chennai just because I had to record the song. This has been my most challenging as well as exciting work so far. I got the lyrics along with translations since I don’t understand Tamil; Anirudh was patient enough with me.”

“This is a romantic song, which includes a positive, warm feeling and the groovy beats make it a kickass number,” added Arjun.

The versatile singer will be heard crooning with debutant female singer Srinidhi in this film. Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh, ‘Remo’ will hit the theatres on 7 October 2016. All the songs and will be released in the last week of July along with the trailer.
