MUMBAI: The band's heyday was much before private FM radio stations became de riguer. But it took a radio station to bring one of the country's best loved bands Bombay Vikings back together again. 'Fever Unplugged Live' managed to get Bombay Vikings together in its Mumbai studio for its national show that aired live on social media recently.
The event was live on Fever's Facebook Page and it was viewed by two lakh fifty thousand people. Interestingly, this included frontman Neeraj Shridhar's wife and brother who were watching him live from Norway.
The band was approached by the Fever representatives and they agreed to be on the show as the band's lead vocalist Neeraj Shridhar found the 'Fever Unplugged' concept exciting. He said, "I have never seen something like this in India, so far! We meet the fans, we sing live for them and it's a very intimate setup." He further stated that he has seen such concepts in the west, but in Mumbai, it is his first experience.
While at the studio Neeraj and the band recreated the magic of yesteryear hits like 'Kya Soorat Hai', 'Chod Do Aanchal', 'Hawa Mein Udta Jaaye', 'Tera Mera Pyaar Sanam'. They also played some of Neeraj's contemporary hits like 'Prem Ki Naiyya', 'Bhool Bhulaiyya', 'Tum Mile'.
The show was hosted by RJ Urmin who also happens to be a big fan of the Bombay Vikings. Urmin kept the audience entertained by talking about their song making stories.
This was the fourth edition of Fever Unplugged Live after Ash King, Armaan-Amaal Malik and Euphoria.
