Rustom soundtrack recreates 60s retro ambience

MUMBAI: Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, ‘Rustom’ is an upcoming movie based on true events starring Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'cruz, Arjan Bajwa, and Esha Gupta.

The official trailer of Akshay Kumar’s highly expected film ‘Rustom’ was released on Thursday (30 June) morning.

The trailer lays out the vital points — the dedicated service of Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar), a dashing naval officer, his idyllic married life with his English-born wife (Ileana D’Cruz), and a perfect world.

When it comes to the film's music, the line-up is quite weighty. Music composers like Ankit Tiwari, Jeet Ganguli, Raghav Sachar, and Arko Pravo Mukherjee have composed the tracks. Radioandmusic.com contacted Raghav Sachar, one of the music composers. This is what he shared with us. Read on.

“Rustom’s music is an assorted album and the movie is based on the 1960s era. All the tracks have this retro vibe in them. We have grown up listening music from movies like ‘Shaan’ and ‘Don’, so you will actually get to hear those kinds of tunes. I have composed the title track ‘Rustom Wahi’ for the film, which is a thriller song based on Rustom’s (Akshay Kumar) character. Rest of the composers put their best, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Jeet Ganguli composed the romantic numbers and Ankit Tiwari did the heart-rending number for the film.”

The title track of the movie is “Kise hai khabar kya galat kya sahi / Jo Jita yahan hain Rustom wahi” composed by Raghav Sachar. The lyrics of all the soundtracks are penned by Manoj Muntashir. “It has a suspenseful sound; I have used multiple instruments to bring that thrilling effect and it will be out on 12 July 2016 by Zee Music,” added Raghav.

The movie will release on 12 August 2016 in association with KriArj Entertainment, Cape Of Good Films and Friday Filmworks. The movie will be distributed by Zee Studios.
