The Acoustic Girls releases debut single 'Jigsaw Puzzle' on World Music Day

MUMBAI: Which day would be better than The World Music Day for one to release a single? Well making the best of this occasion Mumbai based duoThe Acoustic Girls that launched in December 2014, released their first single ‘Jigsaw Puzzle’ today.

The single is being distributed by Asli Music, which is National award winning engineer-producer KJ Singh's music label. The recently released track is a catchy and motivational post-breakup song.

The Acoustic Girls consisting of Amanda Sodhi (vocals) and Malvika Sirur (guitar, backing vocals). They have been performing a collection of many originals and a few covers in English and Hindi across Mumbai for a year-and-a-half and have also worked on music projects for underprivileged children.

Amanda previously lived in Washington, DC and Los Angeles where she was pursuing writing, filmmaking and marketing. After moving to Mumbai, she initially fronted pop-rock band The Chudail & Demons, and soon after lent her voice to an English bluesy number in Manish Pandya's upcoming film ‘Boom Boom Waale’. Amanda is also co-directing a feature-length documentary about the indie music scene in India called Attention Please, and is a part of several theatrical productions including ‘Agnes of God’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice’.

Malvika has taught at various institutes including at Maithili's Institute of Performing Arts and Lokmanya Institute. She was a previously part of the band Shakin Pulse in 2012.
