Controversies' darling: The bad boy of music 'Mika' turns 39

MUMBAI: He is audiences' favourite when it comes to Bollywood tracks, but he has also been controversies favourite child. Well, it's none other than Mika Singh. It's said that controversy is a part of the nature of art and creativity. Some just get a whiff of it while the others get it in abundance; Singh seems to fall in the latter category. Today as he turns 39 we zoom into some of his highly publicised controversial moments.

In 2006, Singh kissed Bollywood's item girl Rakhi Sawant at his birthday party amidst shutterbugs. This later resulted into Sawant filling a molestation lawsuit against the singer.

Mika’s controversial acts include hit and run case that allegedly took place in 2014, when the singer knocked down an auto rickshaw causing serious injuries to the passengers.

In April 2015 Mika slapped a doctor during a concert in South Delhi. Consequently, an F.I.R was lodged against him.

The singer was also into a legal battle with singer Sonu Nigam. As per the reports in media Singh used Nigam's pictures for a promotional campaign without his consent. This lead to Nigam filing a defamation case against him. The case was later rest in Nigam's favour.

Mika was in trouble over his favourite orange Hummer for it was apparently registered on a fictitious name and address. The complaint was registered in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

In 2015 Mika posted a picture of him with a lipstick mark on his face and claimed it to be Bipasha Basu's. This did grab some eyeballs from the film industry. However, Basu went on to use the account to clear the air. Later Mika too stated that it was lipstick mark of Dadi from Colors' Comedy Night's With Kapil'.

The Gurgaon district administration has sealed Singh’s farmhouse ‘King’s Jungle’ for the National Green Tribunal raised objection to running of commercial activities in this village, of which about 75 per cent land had been classified as forest area.

Nevertheless, Mika, the has given the film industry some awesome peppy numbers like 'Jumme Ki Raat', 'Mauja Hi Mauja', ‘Subah Hone Na De’, ‘Pungi’, ‘Sawan Mein Lag Haye Aag’, ‘Ibn-e-Batuta’, ‘Dhanno’ ‘Dhinka Chika’ and we wish him a stellar birthday.
