'I Still Do' could be Eric Clapton's last album ever

MUMBAI: Legendary guitarist and songwriter Eric Clapton has announced that the new LP 'I Still Do' could very well be the 71-year-old's last studio effort ever. For the album, Clapton reunited with producer Glyn Johnson and the last track off the LP, titled 'I'll Be Seeing You', has understandably raised concerning questions.

Clapton's latest effort with the 'Slowhand' producer led to a blend of covers of several popular artistes - Bob Dylan, Leroy Carr and so on - and original compositions. The reunion after forty years surely resulted into a fine effort, but while speaking to Billboard, Clapton hinted the time has finally come. "It’s one of those things that’s been haunting me,” said Clapton. “I love the song and I love the sentiment. Just in case I don’t cut another record, this is how I feel. I kind of might be saying goodbye. But I’ve been doing that for a while.”

The British songwriter was suffering from eczema during the recording and the struggle made the process more difficult for the 18-time Grammy award recipient. Eczema has not been the only health issue Clapton faced in the span of last two years. I’ve had some health issues with my back and a neurological thing that is tricky, that affects my hands,” he said. “If there’s no serious fallout, I’ll start
looking to do some work. If there is, I’ll have to figure out what to do next – maybe take it easy for a while.”
