MUMBAI: His on screen daredevil stuntss have earned Akshay Kumar the title of ‘Khiladi of Bollywood’. What may earn the actor extra brownie points is his musical side, concealed well under his action and comedy.
Not many would know that Akshay sang the title song for a spiritual album ‘Nirgun Raakh Liya’ in 2006. The profit made by the album was donated to the victims of train blasts that occurred in Mumbai on 11 July 2006.
This devotional Punjabi number will touch your heart.
Apart from the soulful rendition, Akki gave his vocal chords more exercise in 2013 for his film ‘Special 26’. He sang the cover version of the track, which fetched him some more adulation from his fans.
The original version was sung by M.M. Keeravani.
He may not make a big song and dance about his musical abilities, but we do wish he would exercise those vocal muscles oftener!
