For the first time ever: Santana and Rahman at Infosys' corporate gig

MUMBAI: Music maestro AR Rahman and American legendary guitarist and composer Carlos Santana performed in San Fransisco, California, last night - on the same stage. The Oscar-winning Indian musician and Santana came together for the first time, for a corporate gig initiated by Bengaluru-based tech company Infosys.

The Mozart of Madras posted a photo on the official social media account with the caption around 22:00 PDT (local time) - "Dear Mr. Santana, it was amazing to perform with you tonight... Lots of love"

The last night's gig at #ConfluenceConcert2016 was the first ever on-stage collaboration between the two golbally respected composers.

On the same night, Rahman also posed with former World No. 1 Swedish tennis player Stefan Edberg. Santana also asked Edberg and Rahman to sign his guitars, and gifted them personal guitars too.

The attendees at the concert were treated with some of the Rahman's classics and Santana's trademark compositions. The 'Dil Se' composer performed one of his most popular songs, also captured by one of the attendees.

Infosys promoted the event for a week before the night, on social media and digital platforms. The organisation, surely, has raised the bar for corporate gigs with the latest collaboration involving two musicians who share twelve Grammy awards between them.

Rahman's current visit to Unied States begun with 'Time 100' event, and while the two-time Oscar winner prepares for his tour to Malaysia, last night definitely acted as an ideal conlusion to his American trip.
