Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant Tanveer Hussain to record song for Sajid-Wajid

MUMBAI: The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa crown is still a few episodes away, but Tanveer Hussain, one of the top 12 contestants, has already added a feather to his cap. Impressed by the performance of the 25 year old qawwal from Punjab, mentors Sajid Wajid have offered him a chance to record a song with them.

Hussain's soulful voice has apparently bowled the jury and the mentors over on the music reality show that airs on weekends on Zee TV. His renditions of ghazals have been so powerful, that composer duo Sajid Wajid decided to offer him their own 'nazrana' - the chance to record a song with them that may eventually find its way into a Hindi film. They were apparently taken in by his rendition of the song 'Jugni'.

“Tanveer is one of the best contestants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa whose voice is ready to record songs. His voice is such that everyone on the sets gets emotional listening to him. His voice modulation, versatility and throw are mind blowing. We have seen many singers who are versatile, but Tanveer tops the list. He is an expert in Ghazal and Sufi genres, and at the same time he can give you goose bumps while singing Bollywood numbers too. He has a long way to go and we are extremely excited to record a song with him,” say the composer duo about Tanveer’s singing talent.
