Being a mother is a beautiful feeling, but I missed being on the stage: Shefali Alvares

MUMBAI: Love takes you places and this is true in 'Subah Hone Na De' singer Shefali Alvares' case. The singer fell in love with Bhopal based Aly Rashid and moved there. The couple tied the knot in early 2014 and Alvares delivered her first child in July 2015.

Work was put on the back burner for the 'Tera Naam Japti Phiran' singer for a good 10 months but, now she is back. She performed at the GiMA Awards and she will be performing at the ongoing Worli Festival as well .

Talking about her sabbatical, the singer stated, "I missed working during the last six months of my pregnancy and four months after it. I had to be at home. Being a mother is a beautiful feeling, but I missed being on the stage."

The singer is taking up more gigs now but, that also means a lot of travel as she is settled in Bhopal. "I do have to travel a lot and I love it," stated the singer.

On the Bollywood front, the 'Ratta Maar' singer wants to work with various other music composers. The ones topping her list are Jeet Gannguli and Amit Trivedi. "I recently performed with Jeet Gannguli at the GiMA Awards and I love it. Thus, I would love to work with him. I have worked with Amit Trivedi on 'Bombay Velvet' and its songs were really different. Therefore, I want to work with him again," said Alvares.

She added, "As a vocalist you need to explore more. This is one of the reasons why I want to try different genres."
