I had forgotten about 'Ji Huzoori': Arun Daga

MUMBAI: Singer Arun Daga who has earlier given his voice to Bollywood films 'Lamhaa' and 'Saheb Bibi Aur Gangster' amongst others is currently on cloud nine as his latest song 'Ji Huzoori' from 'Ki & Ka' is doing extremely well.

'Ji Huzoori' fell in Daga's kitty one night. The singer was at his home when he received a call from music composer Mithoon to come down to his studio. Daga reached his studio to learn about 'Ji Huzoori.' "Mithoon asked me to sing a song. The first version of the song wasn't liked much by him. So, he asked me to re-record it but this time, he asked me to be more soft and warm. I did the same. And, then we also had a third version, though the second version made it to the film," stated the singer.

The recording went on for three days as the singer was later called to add a few alaps in the song and later the word 'Ji Ha' was added.

Interestingly, this classically trained singer had forgotten about the song after singing for the same. "We sing a lot of songs for composers but, not all of them make it to the film. The current music industry trend is different. Different singers sing the same song. So, I sang the song and forgot about it till someone called and informed about having heard my voice in an upcoming film song," laughed out Daga.

Daga who rose to fame with his first music album 'Dil Pagal Hai' with T-Series is currently busy working on singles for SaReGaMa. In fact, his first Rock Sufi single 'Mere Peeran' released recently and three more under the same genre will release sometime soon.

"This is for the first time that I am trying my hands at Sufi. But, I am sure that my songs will surprise one because they have an engaging blend of Indian Classical and rock elements," said 'Dil Pagal Hai' singer.
