MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed that he will sing the national anthem before the commencement of the match that will take place on Saturdaybetween India and Pakistan, as part of the ongoing T 20 cricket World Cup .
Much fireworks are expected at this encounter between the two nations, which will take place after a fairly long break. This will however not be the first time the Big B will be paying an ode to the song of the nation. Last year, he released a single, rendering the National Anthem in his inimitable voice, on Republic day.
Amitabh Bachchan also sang the National Anthem at the second season of Pro Kabaddi League. Clearly, sports, Amitabh and the national anthem have a strong bond with each other.
Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali is going to sing the Pakistan national anthem and the match is scheduled for 19 March at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
