'Love Shots' songs to travel beyond the film

MUMBAI: With a limited budget but unlimited talent the team at Y-Films got together to produce a package of six short films with an album of six songs, under the guidance of director Ankur Tewari. And now they have beyond the film plans for these songs.

If Tewari is to be believed these songs will be a part of concerts and this is just the beginning. “These songs have many interesting bands and musicians. Thus, it will be a pity if we do not take it out and promote it. We are planning to take the music to events and colleges,” said the director.

When asked how the idea of creating songs for the short films came to him he stated. “I am a musician myself. Hence, I needed music in my film.”

Tewari who has also sung for the first short film ‘The Road Trip’ further added, “Instead of asking people to make different songs we were listening to a lot of already existing songs. It was pretty much a casting process for songs instead of creating them.”

This was also one of the reasons why music video director Shraddha Pasi Jairath found each song different from the other. “The songs were unique but they were not necessarily relating to their respective films. But, the songs were so beautiful that we knew that visually we could connect them,” said the video director who managed to put the music videos together with the help of her team.

Two of the short films also feature two well-known musicians – Salim Merchant and Swanand Kirkire. On getting them onboard as actors Tewari said, “It was an idea thrown by Shanoo Sharma our casting director. We were open to all ideas that would make these short films more interesting. That’s how the two of them got onboard.”

Talking about his acting debut Merchant said, “I was intrigued by acting but I did not think that I would ever act. But, then I got this opportunity from Y-Films and I just took it up. I have got to learn a lot through this.”

Airtel 4G is the presenting partner of ‘Love Shots’ hence, the songs will also be available as caller tunes.

Songs on the 'Love Shots' album are:
