Shraddha Kapoor moves up the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list

MUMBAI: Actor – singer Shraddha Kapoor has found a mention in the recently released Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list.

The 26-year-old celebrity features in the 2016 magazine issue. In 2015, Shraddha has ranked 57th on Forbes Indian Celebrity 100 with her annual earnings pegged at $1.3 million. This is her second time on a Forbes list.

Daughter of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor, Shraddha was trained as a singer since her early days. She has studied theatre at Boston University before trying her luck in the film industry. Her maternal grandfather and mother are classical singers and she made her singing debut in the 2014 romantic track ‘Galliyan’ from the movie ‘Ek Villain’.

Her debut Bollywood film was ‘Teen Patti’, but she made a breakthrough presence in Aashiqui 2 (2013), Ek Villain (2014) and last year’s dance film ABCD 2 (2015).

Kapoor’s next film ‘Baaghi: Rebels in Love’ opposite Tiger Shroff is scheduled to release on 29 April 29 2016. Recently, she was roped in for the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil super hit ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. The name of the movie is ‘OK Jaanu’, directed by Shaad Ali, lyrics by Gulzar and music by A R Rahman. After the romantic saga of Aashiqui 2, this is the second time Shraddha and Aditya come together to sizzle the screen with their chemistry. Shraddha has been the brand ambassador for several brands such as Lakme, Veet, Vaseline and Lipton.
