'Maati Baani' to launch new music series 'The Music Yantra'

MUMBAI: World music band ‘Maati Baani’ will soon launch its new music series ‘The Music Yantra’ online.

It features Nirali Kartik and Kartik Shah, along with 50 musicians around the globe. The music assemblage will attempt to connect essential elements of Hindustani Classical Music with a range of new-age styles and folk music. According to the band, ‘The Music Yantra’ is a one-of-its-kind global music collaboration web series designed to sway the audience. The music series is a coming together of 50 Indian and international artists from 20 countries pooling their efforts to create some great musical masterpieces.

The core members of the band are Nirali Kartik, the vocalist and Kartik Shah, who plays the guitar, keyboard, creates electronic sound and backing vocals.

The idea behind the novel initiative stemmed from ‘Maati Baani’’s strong belief that music has the power to go beyond dissimilarities, be it languages, cultures, or even geographical boundaries. All the way through their journey, they have appreciated, discovered, and celebrated the sounds of out-of-the-way but wonderful musicians from different corners of the globe. ‘The Music Yantra’ is Maati Baani’s dream to reality project and they have worked from the grass-root level to make the first move. They explored the best musicians world-wide, built trust and exchanged ideas on a digital platform.

‘The Music Yantra’ features six songs, which are an assortment of tuneful genres such as Electro, Rock, Func, Jazz, Blues, and R&B, along with Folk and Indian classical as the protagonist. Every track features an exclusive musical drive of sound and instrument. The first song of the series ‘Lagan Laagi’ will be out soon.
