Massive Attack provides a massive surprise with the release of 'Ritual Spirit'; album announcement

MUMBAI: Six years after Massive Attack released their last album 'Heligoland', the British trip hop group has released a new EP titled 'Ritual Spirit'. The 4-track EP was released on 28 January via Virgin EMI.

The surprise-release of the latest EP comes one week after launching a new app called Fantom, that features the four tracks from the 'Ritual Spirit'. The band uploaded the video for the track 'Take It There' which marks the return of Tricky, who last collaborated with Massive Attack in 1994.

Apart from Tricky, the EP also features Young Fathers, Roots Manuva, and Azekel. 'Ritual Spirit' is written by Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja and Euan Dickinson.

The surprise does not end there. The duo will also release another EP later this year, written and co-produced by Daddy G. The two EPs act as the perfect build-up for a full-length album, slated to release in 2016.

The band is currently touring across UK and Ireland.
