Megadeth to release single from new album for Record Store Day's Black Friday

MUMBAI: American thrash metal band- Megadeth is set to release a brand new album 'Dystopia' on 22 January, 2012. However, in honour of Record Store Day's Black Friday, ‘The Threat is Real’- a single from the album - will be released on 12-inch vinyl.

The band's association with 'Black Friday' goes back to a single of the same name from their second album. The band also plans to release a new recording, which is a version of Fear's punk classic 'Foreign Policy'. For now, however, the track will be available only on vinyl, and it will be released in all formats with the official release of 'Dystopia'. The 12-inch for 'Foreign Policy' will be available at all participating retailers on 27 November, but only a limited number of copies for 'The Threat is Real' will be available across the US.

With 11 tracks on the new album, Megadeth will release 'Dystopia' on both CD and LP. The album will be released digitally on the same day under Universal Music Enterprises/ Tradecraft/ T-Boy Records. The band released its first single- Fatal Illusion- from the album earlier, which received major appreciation from the press.

Megadeth will join the list of several musicians who will also be releasing singles on 12-inch vinyls on Black Friday. The list includes Paul McCartney's 'Say Say Say', Eric Mathews's 'It's Heavy in Here', Schoolly D's 'Gucci Time', Queen's 'Bohemain Rhapsody', MGMT's 'Time To Pretend', Beck's 'Dreams' and several others.
