'Gum Bhulo Gum' rapper AJ Singh to collaborate with Deep Money and Jaz Dhami

MUMBAI: While AJ Singh maybe the new rapper on block, he is not really new to the music industry. The artist has been DJing for the last 15 years, and also runs an event management company. However, he is now exploring a new avenue, which began with him rapping for the track ‘Gum Bhulo Gum’ from the Naseeruddin Shah starrer- ‘Charlie Kay Chakkar Mein’. The song also features vocals by ‘Kundi Na Kadkao Raja’ singer- Neha Kakkar.

Talking about how he bagged ‘Gum Bhulo Gum’, the rapper revealed, “Both, Shweta Sharma (actress) and Karan Arora (producer of ‘Charlie Kay Chakkar Mein’) are good friends. So, when they planned ‘Gum Bhulo Gum’, they were looking out for a rapper, and that was when my name was tossed in with the mix. I recorded the rap part, but there was no certainty about whether or not it would be part of the track. Fortunately, they liked my voice, and now I am part of the final song.”

With his foray into Hindi rap, Singh, who also has a band called Angreji, believes he is very different from other Punjabi rappers. “I am not limited to Punjabi. I can rap in Hindi too,” he explained.

Singh is now collaborating with well known talents like Deep Money, who recently teamed up with Hard Kaur for ‘Ranjha’, and Folkhop singer- Jaz Dhami, who is best known for the track- ‘High Heels’ which also features rapper- Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Singh’s track with Money is ready, and will most likely release by mid November, and the music video will feature ‘Fugly’ actress- Mansa Bahl. “The song is more like a Bollywood one, but the video has an international feel to it,” said Singh. The artist also revealed that his next track with Dhami will be a party number.
