Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town sweep CMA Awards 2015

MUMBAI: The 49th CMA Awards are finally out and it turned out to be a big night for both, Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town. The event, which took place on 4 November, 2015 at The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, saw Stapleton and Little Big Town take home three awards each.

In addition to taking home the New Artist of the Year award, Stapleton also won two of the biggest titles on the night- Album of The Year (Traveller) and Male Vocalist of the Year. The ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ singer also performed with pop singer- Justin Timberlake at the event.

Meanwhile, American vocal group- Little Big Town took home ‘Single of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ for the track ‘Girl Crush’, and ‘Vocal Group of the Year’ awards.

Other winners at the event included Luke Bryan for Entertainer of the Year, Miranda Lambert- Female Vocalist of the Year, Florida Georgia Line- Vocal Duo of the Year, Maddie & Tae won- Music Video of the Year for ‘Girl in a Country Song’, Keith Urban featuring Eric Church- Musical Event of the Year for ‘Raise 'Em Up’ and Mac McAnally- Musician of the Year.

The event also witnessed some outstanding performances by Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maddie & Tae, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band.

It also featured a few collaborations -- Dierks Bentley with Lindsey Stirling, Brooks & Dunn with Reba, Fall Out Boy with Thomas Rhett, John Mellencamp with Keith Urban, and Hank Williams Jr. with Eric Church. The award night was hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

The nominees and winners of the CMA Awards were determined by more than 7,400 industry professional members of CMA.
