Bhushan Kumar turns music producer for upcoming films

MUMBAI: T-Series’ head honcho- Bhushan Kumar, who is known to have an ear for music, will now serve as music producer for R Balki’s ‘Ki and Ka’ and Dhoni’s biopic ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

Kumar, for the first time, listened to the track ‘High Heels’ by Yo Yo Honey Singh in 2012, and immediately introduced it to Balki for the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Ki and Ka’. “When Balki heard the original song, he appointed me as the "music producer" for his film. He requested an album of five tracks," said Kumar, adding that the director even asked for some situational tracks. Post this, Kumar bought the music rights and a fresh version of ‘High Heels’ was created by ‘Baby Doll’ composers Meet Brothers.

Meanwhile, for the film ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, Kumar will be donning the hat of a producer, while Amaal Mallik is the composer for the film and Manoj Muntashir has penned the lyrics. According to various sources in the industry, “Bhushan Kumar is in the process of selecting a few songs for the movie and will be giving it to director- Neeraj Pandey. The album will have seven songs.”

‘Ki and Ka’ will feature Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles, while ‘M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ will have actor Sushant Singh Rajput and is being produced under Fox Star Studios.
